Role overview: The Consolidation and Reporting Manager oversees Dentons' Europe Finance Team’s consolidation processes, ensuring accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP standards. Responsibilities include supervising team tasks, managing group entity submissions, and liaising with local finance managers and auditors
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the consolidation team tasks.
- Perform the group consolidation and prepare financial statements within the agreed deadlines.
- Supervise the submission of consolidated packages from all group entities.
- Check and control of reporting delivered by various offices.
- Communicate to local financial managers in particular offices.
- Educate financial managers on reporting tools, guidelines, annual changes etc.
- Communicate and cooperate with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP adopted by the group (currently UK GAAP)
- Prepare and update consolidation guidelines.
Requirements
Knowledge:
- Offer suggestions for improvement in all areas of consolidation.
- Proactively contribute to team discussions to share knowledge and educate others.
- Utilize technical knowledge to the benefit of the group (under relevant GAAP applied)
- Enhance sector specific knowledge and apply best market practices within in the group
Required experience and education:
- University degree
- 7+ years working experience at a BIG 4 or similar.
- Experience with consolidation processes and working in a consolidation team.
- Ability working with strict deadlines in a time pressure environment.
- Be Flexible and taking responsibility for getting things done and involves others as appropriate.
- Experience working with External financial auditors.
- Effective communication skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in another European language being an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel.
Desired experience and education:
- Part or fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, Others).
- Professional of professional business firm sector is an advantage.
- Experience with Wolter Kluwer Tagetik consolidation module.
- Experience working in a matrix environment.
